OLUSOJI TO OKUN PEOPLE: PUT COLLECTIVE INTEREST ABOVE POLITICAL DIFFERENCES, CLOSE RANKS FOR GREATER RELEVANCE

“A UNITED OKUN CAN NEGOTIATE FROM A POSITION OF STRENGTH” — OLUSOJI

ABUJA — Asiwaju Prince Dr. Olatunji Olusoji has called on the people of Okunland to rise above personal interests, political differences and internal divisions, stressing that the collective destiny and development of the region must remain paramount.

Olusoji made the call while addressing stakeholders at the Okun Unity Dialogue, organised by the Okun Development Initiative in Abuja, where political leaders, traditional stakeholders, professionals, community advocates and other sons and daughters of Okunland converged to deliberate on the future of the region.

In a strongly worded appeal for unity, Olusoji urged Okun people to close ranks and support leadership capable of advancing development, strengthening political influence and securing greater opportunities for the people within the political architecture of Kogi State.

He maintained that unity remains the most potent political capital available to Okunland, arguing that a cohesive and strategically organised people would be better positioned to negotiate effectively and attract meaningful developmental opportunities.

The prominent Okun stakeholder also charged political leaders and stakeholders to eradicate the culture of envy, rivalry and destructive infighting, warning that persistent divisions could undermine the region's collective aspirations.

Quoting the timeless admonition that “a house divided against itself cannot stand,” he called for reconciliation, mutual respect and a renewed commitment to the common good.

According to him, Okun stakeholders must remain united, strategically coordinated and politically conscious ahead of the 2027 general elections, emphasising that political engagement should ultimately serve the broader interests of peace, development, prosperity and the future of generations yet unborn.

He urged Okun sons and daughters across political divides to transform their diversity into strength and work collaboratively in pursuit of a common cause and shared destiny.

Olusoji's intervention at the dialogue underscored the growing call for a new era of strategic political mobilisation, collective bargaining and purposeful leadership capable of repositioning Okunland for greater visibility, influence and development.

The Okun Unity Dialogue consequently provided a significant platform for stakeholders to rethink old political fault lines and champion a renewed agenda of unity, strategic partnership and collective advancement ahead of the region's defining political moments.

Nyamkpa Ruling House Denies Emergence of New Etsu Bassa Nge in Kogi

The Nyamkpa Ruling House in Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State has dismissed reports circulating in some quarters that a new Etsu Bassa Nge has emerged following the demise of the paramount ruler, General Abu Ali Mopa (Rtd).
