Ododo’s Aide Empowers 27 persons, distributes wrappers to 300 elderly people in Kogi

Dr Suberu Yusuf-John,  Special Adviser (SA) to Kogi Governor,  Alhaji Ahmed Ododo on Road Safety Matters has empowered 27 persons with funds and distributed wrappers to 300 elderly persons in Ege/Iruvochinomi Ward in Adavi Local Government Area of the State.

Speaking during the occasion graced by Government officials, stakeholders and community leaders,  Dr Yusuf-John said that the gesture was his own way of giving back to  the people in his ward in appreciation of God's grace upon his life. 
Yusuf-John expressed profound gratitude to the Auditor-Generalvof Local Government Areas, Hon.  Yakubu Adabenege, other government officials, religious and community leaders for gracing the occasion. 
.
The SA described Hon. Yakubu Adabenege as his leader and mentor over the years and that his presence was a huge encouragement to him and the people of Ege-Iruvochinomi Ward. 

The SA said, "My journey in politics and public service has been strengthened by the support and mentorship I received and enjoyed from Hon. Yakubu Adabenege over tge years.

"In appreciation, I hereby pray for God’s continued protection, wisdom, good health and greater elevation of my leader and mentor."

According to him, the people of his ward are so grateful to the Gov. Ododo for the ongoing road project in the community, and his (Dr Yusuf-John's) own elevation from Senior Special Assistant to Special Adviser on Road Safety Matters.

He added, "We are also appreciative of the Governor for the appointment opportunities offered to other indigenes of the community into various government positions."

Dr.Yusuf John, had received the Auditor-General popularly known as the “King of Boys,” alongside other prominent political leaders, government functionaries, party faithful and stakeholders during his August visit to the ward.

In his remarks,  Hon. Adabenege said that he graced the occasion mainly to celebrate his (Yusuf-John 's) recent promotion from Senior Special Assistant  to Special Adviser to  the Kogi Governor and to support the his empowerment programmes in the area

The Auditor-General described Yusuf-John as a gift, not only to Ege/Iruvochinomi Ward, but to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Government headed by Gov Ododo and the entire people of the State.

Adabenege said: "The financial empowerment and distribution of wrappers to the indigenes of Ege/Iruvochinomi Ward is very good and pleasant empowerment programmes of Dr Yusuf-John. "

He expressed gladness with the commitment of the people of the ward at supporting the Ododo-led administration and the APC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.

On the ward's several requests made to the Governor on employment opportunities, political appointments, opportunities for their sons and daughters to contest and occupy elective positions, empowerment programmes, and improved access to potable water, Adabenege pledged to ensure they (requests) reached the governor and were met.

The Auditor-General expressed confidence in the governor’s commitment to inclusiveness and grassroots development and called on the people to continue support his administration.

The event brought together APC leaders, community and religious leaders, traditional rulers, youths, men and women of the ward, and provided an opportunity for meaningful grassroots engagement, unity and interaction with representatives of the government ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Some of the dignitaries in attendance included Engr. Momoh Aliyu Ezzu, APC State Chairman, Hon. Yusuf Adebayo Ohiare, Special Adviser to the Governor on Electronic Media, Hon. Ismaila Isah, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, and Hon. Barnabas Oyibo, Adavi Local Government APC Chairman.

Others are Hon. Jimoh Sule Ozovehe, Adavi APC Chairmanship Candidate, Members of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Senior Special Assistants, Local Government and Ward Special Assistants, APC Ward Executives, Community and religious Leaders, Youths and women of the community.

The visit also provided an avenue for the people of Ege/Iruvochinomi Ward to engage directly with the government of Gov. Ododo and discuss issues affecting the community.
