2027 Election Is Another Historic Opportunity to Rescue the People from Failed Leadership-IDRUFEM

The candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr. Idris Rufus Oluwafemi, has declared that the people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency and Kogi West Senatorial District have taken a bold and historic step towards political liberation, development, and people-oriented governance following the affirmation of the party’s candidates ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

Speaking shortly after the successful affirmation exercise, Dr. Idris Rufus expressed profound appreciation to party stakeholders, faithful members, grassroots mobilizers, and constituents across the constituency for the overwhelming confidence reposed in the ADC leadership structure and its candidates.

The ADC flagbearer, while acknowledging the affirmation of the party’s Senatorial candidate, Alhaji Musa Amodu, alongside the four State Assembly candidates for Kabba-Bunu I & II and Ijumu I & II constituencies, described the development as a clear signal that the people are determined to reclaim their mandate and enthrone purposeful leadership.

Reflecting on the 2023 political experience, Dr. Idris Rufus lamented that despite the massive support enjoyed by the opposition movement, the people’s mandate was allegedly frustrated.

“In 2023, we were close to rescuing our people, but the people’s mandate was thwarted. This is another opportunity to salvage our people. The good people of Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu and by extension Kogi West have spoken by affirming their candidates, and the voice of man is the voice of God,” he declared.

In a strongly worded message filled with optimism and political conviction, the ADC candidate assured constituents that the party is presenting a team of visionary and competent leaders prepared to champion transformational governance and quality representation.

“This is a set of leadership that will deliver our people.
We’ll get the right legislation that will protect our people.
Today, you have affirmed progress, prosperity, liberation, development, empowerment, and prosperity,” he stated.

Dr. Idris Rufus further commended the people of Kabba and Ijumu for what he described as a rare demonstration of unity, inclusiveness, and political maturity by supporting Bunu extraction to produce representatives for the constituency.

“Thank you Kabba, and thank you Ijumu, for giving Bunu the privilege to produce your representatives,” he added.

In a reconciliatory tone aimed at strengthening party cohesion ahead of the electoral battle, the ADC standard bearer appealed to aggrieved party members and constituents to forgive perceived shortcomings and embrace unity for the collective interest of the people.

He stressed that the time for internal divisions was over, urging all stakeholders, youths, women groups, political allies, and grassroots supporters to close ranks and work in synergy as the party officially resumes its full-scale campaigns across the constituency and the senatorial district.

Political observers say the statement signals the ADC’s determination to consolidate opposition strength in Kogi West as the battle for the 2027 general elections gathers momentum.
