Safety First: Federal Fire Service Partners with the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences, Enugu on Fire Accident Prevention
The Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Allied Health Sciences Enugu, Professor John Emaimo, on Tuesday, received a delegation from the Federal Fire Service, Enugu State Command, led by Dr Ezeora Godwin Chinweuba (ACF) State Controller, Federal Fire Service, Enugu State Command, during a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening Fire safety collaboration.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Chinweuba, the State Controller (ACF), explained that the engagement was designed to familiarise the Command with the Institution as one of the rapidly expanding Establishments within its operational coverage.
He noted that the visit also provided an opportunity to offer expert guidance and precautionary measures necessary for maintaining a safe and hazard-free Environment, more importantly to enlighten the School Community on how to handle Fire equipment in case of any incident.
Responding, The Vice Chancellor, Professor Emaimo described the visit as both timely and essential, particularly in light of the University’s increasing Population and infrastructural growth. He emphasized the Institution’s commitment to ensuring a disaster-free environment, stressing that proactive safety measures must evolve alongside development.
Both parties unanimously agreed that sustained collaboration between the University and the Federal Fire Service is critical to guaranteeing the safety of lives and property on campus.
The visiting team included key officials of the Enugu State Command: SF Onyemegbulam Cyracus, DSF Ikor David, DSF Okere Ngozi, DSF OC Eneje, DSF Nweke Anwulika, ASF 11 Ezeoha Purity, and ASF 11 Nwafor Ozioma.
The visit marks a significant step towards building a resilient safety framework within one of Nigeria’s emerging specialized Universities.
