Kogi Chamber of Commerce Urges Govt to Revitalize Ajaokuta Steel for Economic Growth
The Kogi State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KOCCIMA) has called on the Federal and State Governments to revitalize the Ajaokuta steel company to drive economic growth and development in the nation.
The former President, Femi Ajishafe, made the call at the 2026 Annual General Meeting in Lokoja, which brought together key stakeholders from public and private sectors.
KOCCIMA, established to promote and protect business and economic interests in Kogi State, has recorded achievements in advocacy for business-friendly policies and engagement with government institutions.
The 2026 annual general meeting and conference drew business leaders, policymakers, and industry representatives to strengthen commerce, promote industrialization, and attract investment into Kogi State.
Chief Technical Adviser to the Governor, Ozomata, reaffirmed Governor Ododo's commitment to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, assuring continued support in infrastructure, ease of doing business, and security of investments.
Stakeholders expressed optimism that stronger government-private sector partnership would stimulate economic activities, create jobs, and improve the business climate in Kogi State. The event featured the investiture of the new president, Akerejola Demiloye, who promised total commitment to move the Chamber forward. Members renewed their commitment to work collectively towards sustainable economic development and industrial growth in the state.
