‎2027 : THE NEED FOR EFFECTIVE REPRESENTATION AND BALANCED POLITICAL EQUATION IN ANKPA-OLAMABORO-OMALA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY ‎

‎By Andrew Ataguba

‎As the journey to the occupation of various political seats ahead of twenty twenty seven general elections gathers momentum, there are games, gimmicks and of course, political calculations as to who takes what, why and under which party among other considerations.
‎It is no longer news, that politics is all about interest, which is why it is said and believed that there is no permanent enemy in politics, indeed, the decamping from one party to another by politicians attests to this fact.
‎As 2027 General elections draw closer, the intricks has begun, with political jobbers on the increase, not minding the fact that effective representation is key and must not be compromised, otherwise, the pace of growth and development of such Constituency would have been compromised as well.
‎It is on this note that I write to educate key stakeholders, political leaders and the policians at large that it is time to X-ray the past, view the present and of course, project for the future.
‎Why this is necessary is not far fetched. One, that Ankpa, Olamaboro, Omala Federal Constituency is one of the largest in the State is never in doubt, therefore, the need for effective and efficient representation becomes imperative if leadership at that level must not be thrown to the dust bin.
‎No doubt, past representatives have played their part, the present playing his part, but the need for consolidation and aggressive development becomes sacrosanct.
‎Equally, since politics is all about interest, vis-a-vis the growth and transformation of the society or communities, there is always the need for political balancing in terms of the occupation of political seats, be it at the local, State or national levels.
‎On this note, it is instructive and educative to note that in the political history of Ankpa, Olamaboro, Omala Federal Constituency, Only Attai Aidoko from Olamaboro Local Government has represented that federal Constituency, leaving the rest periods for Ankpa majorly and Omala once as well, but had a Governor for nine years, meaning that Olamaboro has been under represented as far as the federal Constituency is concerned.
‎This, to a large extent, goes to tell the right thinking people, stakeholders and the government that in 2027, Olamaboro should and must not be ignored if truth, fair play and justice is anything to go by.
‎Apparently, the people could have kept mute in the past due to respect for party leadership, however continued silence could mean a lot, as it may not be taken as consent always, but a dangerous dimension.
‎Moreso, the incumbent, Hon Halims is almost completing his second term as federal legislator, having contributed his best to the federal Constituency, in both human and infrastructural development which is widely acknowledged and appreciated.
‎However, the saying that what is good for the goose is equally good for the gander is most appropriate in this wise, and another reason for a balanced political equation in the coming political dispensation.
‎On this note and having x-rayed the political situation in the federal Constituency, it is now wise and only wise to zone the next Representative seat to Imane Axis since the former who occupied the seat was from another axis, leaving Imane as a child who lost her mother on the market day-Not expecting anything.
‎The doctrine of necessity is relevant here, it is now necessary to allow a grassroots politician, a super Comrade and dependable administrator, Comrade (Honourable) Onuh Edoka, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters to go for the seat and deliver appropriately and adequately.
‎From the calls of the people and groups, including Comrade Onuh Edoka Women International Network, COWIN,  Onuh Edoka Political Advocate, Stand Up For Comrade Onuh Edoka For Rep among others, it is crystal clear that the people obviously desire a grassroots man who feels their pains more.
‎From records, Comrade Onuh Edoka has worked in Public service and retired successfully, has been in the labour cycle and rose to the position of Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC in Kogi State, and of course, was the immediate past National Vice President, Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria, and currently the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters.
‎These experiences put him at a vantage position to deliver as a member of the lower chamber of the National Assembly, while many have expressed optimism in his ability to deliver and ensure optimum results via effective and efficient representation.
‎It is now time to cross the Ts and dot the Is in order to put a square peg in a square hole, noting too that a selfless representative is most desired.
‎The people should choose therefore not mortgage their tomorrow for a peanut, should not support money bag politicians, but stand by the truth just as the holy book says "You shall know the truth and the truth shall set thee free".
‎The time to liberate yourselves is now, the time for political balancing is how, the time to support Comrade Onuh Edoka is now.
‎Conscience is an open wound and only truth can heal it.
