Kogi West Integrity Group Urges Faleke to Join 2027 Governorship Race
The Kogi West Integrity Group has called on Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke to contest the 2027 governorship election in Kogi State, describing him as a leader with proven integrity, capacity, and compassion for the people.
In a statement issued in Abuja, the President of the group, Engr Kayode Adegbayo (Olomo) Special Assistant to the National President of ALGON on Programmes, appointed to help revamp and rebrand Nigeria’s local government system amid the recent Supreme Court financial autonomy ruling described Hon. Faleke as a “household name in Nigeria’s political landscape” whose dedication to public service and human empowerment has set him apart.
“Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke is a perfect gentleman and a patriotic Nigerian who has demonstrated uncommon commitment to national development,” the statement read. “He has empowered thousands of Nigerians to become self-reliant through various initiatives and has consistently shown leadership anchored on honesty, hard work, and accountability.”
Faleke, a former running mate to the late Prince Abubakar Audu in the 2015 Kogi State governorship election, currently represents Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. The group noted that his performance over the years “is worthy of emulation,” adding that his leadership would “salvage Kogi State from the brink of collapse.”
‘It’s Time for Okun to Lead’
The Integrity Group argued that, since the governorship had rotated between the Eastern and Central senatorial districts, it was time for the Western Senatorial District (Okun land) to produce the next governor.
“Since the baton of leadership has gone round Kogi East and Kogi Central, justice and fairness demand that Kogi West should now be given the opportunity to lead,” the statement continued. “looking around and going by his antecedents, the best and most qualified person to lead this charge is Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke.”
The group called on Kogi people across party lines to join in our appeal to Hon James Abiodun Fakele to accept this call as a noble call for rescue and to also rally around Faleke, describing him as “a man of vision, generosity, and impeccable record.”
“Faleke’s contributions to education, security, and infrastructure development—especially at the grassroots level—are unprecedented. The time is now for Kogi to experience genuine transformation, and that change begins with Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke,” the statement concluded.
The group, according to Engr. Kayode Adegbayo (Olomo), will continue with the ongoing consultations and dialogue with Kogi citizens both from the central and the eastern parts of the state to have a brotherly understanding and support in calling and appealing to Hon. James Abiodun Fakele to consider this Clarion call.
