Ex Kogi Gov. Capt. Wada set to defect to APC

Barring any last - minute change, a former Governor of Kogi State Capt. Idris Ichalla Wada is set to defect to the ruling All Progressive Congress, (APC).

Capt. Wada is  expected to decamp alongside other notable leaders and members of opposition parties in Kogi state. 

An invitation message sent to critical stakeholders of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state by the State Party Chairman Hon. Abdullahi  Bello sighted by our news team reads;  “You are specially invited to attend a crucial Decamping ceremony for His Excellency Capt Idris Ichalla Wada former Governor of Kogi State and other notable members of various opposition political parties into the fold of All Progressives Congress (APC).

The schedule is as follows:
Date:    Monday 17th November 2025.
Venue: Muhammadu Buhari Square, Lokoja.
Time:   10am prompt.

Dignitaries are to be seated before the arrival of the National Chairman of our great party”

Through divine providence, Capt Idris Ichalla Wada rose from being a commercial pilot to becoming the Governor of Kogi State (2011 - 2015) under the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP). 

His time in office as Governor of the state was characterized with relative peace; a major requirement for sustainable growth and development. 

Stemming from his immerse wealth of experience from both the public and private sectors, the decamping of Capt. Idris Ichalla Wada from the PDP to the APC is expected to strengthen the already existing leadership  structure of the APC in the State. 

H.E Capt. Wada, a disciplined, focused and purposeful leader will bring valuable assets to enhance the fortunes of APC  in Kogi State and North Central Zone.

Arrangements are on top gear in achieving a  successful and hitch free decamping ceremony for the Former Governor and other notable leaders and members  from opposition parties in Kogi State.
