Kabba-Bunu LGA Chairman Challenges APC Elected Leaders on Security Issues
The Chairman of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, Hon (Barr) Zacchaeus Dare Michael, has called out all elected political leaders, and appointees on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jogi West Senatorial District of Kogi State, to stop paying lip service to issues of security in the state and in the region.
In a statement released today, Hon Zacchaeus Dare Michael criticized these elected office holders, appointees and traditional leaders for only making noise on the pages of newspapers and in the media without taking tangible actions to collaborate with the local government chairmen and security operatives to fight against kidnapping, banditry, and insecurity in the state.
The Chairman commended the efforts of Kogi State governor Alhaji Usman Ododo for investing significant funds into security, particularly in Kogi West, noting that these efforts are gradually yielding success and will achieve their aim.
In addition, Hon. (Barr)Zacchaeus Dare Michael also commended the State Security Adviser, Comdr. Jerry Omodara for his unwavering dedication and relentless efforts to ensure that bandits and kidnappers have no place in Kogi State. The Chairman expressed his appreciation for the progress being made under Comdr. Omodara's leadership, noting that these efforts are already yielding success and that soon, Okunland in Jogi West Senatorial District will witness peace and security once again.
Hon Zacchaeus Dare Michael emphasized the importance of such collaborative efforts to tackle the security challenges in the state and reiterated the need for all stakeholders to work together towards achieving a safer and more secure environment for all residents.
He also praised the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Police, Vigilante groups, and local hunters for their relentless efforts in combatting banditry and insecurity in the state, with specific focus on Okunland.
Hon Zacchaeus emphasized the urgent need for elected office holders and appointees to collaborate and synergize with the local government administrations and security operatives in their various communities to ensure that the efforts of Governor Usman Ododo are felt and banditry is eradicated from the district.
Furthermore, the Chairman called on citizens to refrain from becoming informants to kidnappers and bandits, urging them instead to become watchdogs by providing valuable information to the government and security operators to aid in the fight against criminal elements.
He assured the citizens of the readiness of the Governor Usman Ododo-led administration in maintaining a safe and secure Kogi State but stressed that collective efforts are required to collaborate effectively and make the state a safer place for all.
