Kogi PDP Chairman Vows to Take Over Lugard House in 2027

The Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is confident of taking over Lugard House, the seat of government, in 2027. Hon. Muhammed Sanni Gambo, State Chairman of Kogi PDP, stated that the party's time is up for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and they should start preparing their handing over notes. Gambo expressed optimism that the PDP will not only take over Lugard House but also Aso Rock, citing the party's strong network and structures across the state and Nigeria.  He described Kogi State as a PDP state, saying his emergence as Chairman has reignited the winning zeal of the PDP. The Chairman urged Kogi people to remain faithful and supportive of the PDP, emphasizing the need for peace and lawfulness, especially amidst insecurity challenges.  He again express assurances that the PDP is willing to collaborate with the government on security matters.

Muhammed Sanni Gambo, has issued a stern warning to anyone encroaching on the land allocated for the party’s ongoing State Secretariate project. During a scheduled site visit, he decried the extent of trespassing and the project’s abandonment, describing it as “disheartening” that a party that once dominated the state’s political landscape is still struggling to complete its headquarters. The Federal Government of Nigeria’s proposed tax reforms are intended to increase revenue mobilisation, reduce fiscal deficits, and diversify the economy away from oil dependence. While these objectives are laudable, implementing the reforms in full and at once may generate unintended economic and social consequences if not carefully managed. We have seen series of policies that are gradually implemented. Nigeria is a signatory to many treaties but we are yet to implement most of the signed treaties to the fullest.  Our able president should please reconsider the implementation till after election in 2027.
