Kogi Govt Congratulates Ocholi on TETFund Board Appointment
The Kogi State Government has congratulated Dr. Hassan Abdulrahman Ocholi on his appointment as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), describing the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding contributions to academia, public service and national development.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recently appointed Dr. Ocholi to the TETFund Board of Trustees to represent the North Central geopolitical zone.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the government said Dr. Ocholi's appointment reflects his distinguished record of service, academic excellence, professional competence and unwavering commitment to the development of Nigeria.
According to the statement, Dr. Ocholi's vast experience in public administration, scientific research, policy engagement and community development has equipped him with the capacity and vision required to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of tertiary education in the country.
"The Government describes the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Dr. Ocholi's distinguished record of service, academic excellence, professional competence and commitment to national development," the statement read.
It added that Dr. Ocholi's multidisciplinary background and wealth of experience would strengthen the Board's efforts at transforming Nigeria's higher education sector through effective policies and programmes.
The state government also commended President Tinubu for appointing what it described as "another worthy son of Kogi State" to serve the nation, noting that the decision underscores the President's commitment to placing competent Nigerians in strategic positions to advance the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The statement noted that Kogi State is proud of Dr. Ocholi, an indigene of Oganenigwu in Dekina Local Government Area, expressing confidence that he would bring his experience, intellect and professionalism to bear in strengthening Nigeria's tertiary education system through TETFund.
Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, according to the statement, expressed confidence that the new Board member would justify the confidence reposed in him by discharging his responsibilities with diligence, patriotism and excellence.
The governor also wished Dr. Ocholi a successful tenure and assured him of the support and goodwill of the government and people of Kogi State as he assumes the national assignment.
"We are confident that Dr. Ocholi will make significant contributions to the growth of tertiary education in Nigeria and justify the trust reposed in him. The Government and people of Kogi State wish him a successful and impactful tenure," the statement added.
