Ododo Describes Engr. Bashiru Gegu as “ Dependable, Reliable, Jagaban of Our Time,” Lauds His Loyalty and Capacity

Kogi State Governor Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo has paid glowing tribute to the State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Abubakar Bashiru Gegu, described him as a quintessential leader who has stood with him and carried along the people of Kogi LGA to the best of his ability.

The Governor made the disclosure and praised Engr. Bashiru when he paid a thank-you visit to the people of Kogi LGA for their support for his administration.

The Governor described the people of Kogi LGA as dependable and reliable, praising the people for their unwavering commitment to his administration.

The Governor, while speaking, described Engr. Bashiru as a trusted ally and confidant, described him as a man among equals he relies upon.

According to Gov. Ododo, speaking about Engr. Bashiru he said: "He is very committed. Very transparent. He has capacity. He is a man with double engine. He is the Jagaban of our time, and the Sarkin Yaki of our time," describing Engr. Bashiru Gegu as one follower amongst several others that can be trusted.

The Governor assured that his administration will continue to do more for the people of the state, described Kogi LGA as his second home, and promised to do more for the people of the area and the state in general.

During the visit by the Governor to Kogi LGA, the Governor was hosted at the Ohimgye Igu's palace in Koton Karfe, Kogi LGA.

The thank-you tour to Kogi LGA drew large crowds, showcasing the unalloyed appreciation the people of the area have for His Excellency’s tireless efforts to develop the state with special focus on Kogi LGA.

As part of the visit, Gov. Ododo inspected the newly built palace of the Ohimgye of Igu Kingdom and held meetings with various community leaders and critical stakeholders of the area.

Speaking on the visit, Engr. Bashiru Gegu used the medium to thank the supreme leader of the state, His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Bello, for laying a solid foundation for Kogi's progress and for giving the state a worthy successor.

The Commissioner, on behalf of Kogi LGA, expressed his gratitude to Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo for his dedication and service, and assured of the continued and sustained support of the people of Kogi LGA and the state in general.

The 2025 Law Week of Salem University College of Law officially commenced with a highly impactful and educative visit to the High Court 1, Kogi State Judiciary Headquarters, Lokoja.  The visit marked the first in a series of events designed to expose students to the practical workings of the legal system and strengthen their professional orientation.
