Celebrating a Legacy of Compassion: Dr. Deji OMONIWA Applauds Folashade Joseph’s Lifelong Commitment to Community Service as Ijumu Anglican Diocese installs her as "Aarebirin" of the Diocese
The Comptroller of Immigration in Abuja, Dr. David Adedeji OMONIWA, has expressed profound appreciation to the Diocese of Ijumu Anglican Communion for honouring his sister, Mrs. Folashade Joseph, the former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC) as "AAREBIRIN".
Dr. OMONIWA described the recognition as well-deserved, noting that Mrs. Joseph has consistently distinguished herself through remarkable acts of service and unwavering commitment to humanity, particularly within her hometown of Iyara in Kogi State. He commended the Diocese for acknowledging her impactful contributions, which he said have positively transformed countless lives.
Speaking on her achievements, he highlighted that Mrs. Joseph has become a symbol of compassion and selflessness, earning her reputation as a worthy ambassador and dedicated philanthropist. Her initiatives, he noted, have focused largely on empowering vulnerable groups, especially widows, while also improving access to essential amenities such as potable water through the provision of boreholes in her community.
Among her notable humanitarian efforts is a large-scale food distribution initiative carried out during her 60th birthday celebration, where she donated food items to orphanage homes and vulnerable women in Abuja. This gesture, according to Dr. OMONIWA, reflects her deep-rooted passion for supporting those in need.
He further emphasized her commitment to sustainable development through empowerment programmes designed to uplift widows and support small-scale farmers. These initiatives have not only improved livelihoods but have also strengthened economic resilience within local communities.
Mrs. Joseph’s contributions have not gone unnoticed, as community groups such as the Iyara Development Movement have openly praised her dedication to development and philanthropy, describing her as a beacon of hope and progress.
Dr. OMONIWA concluded by stating that the entire Omoniwa family is immensely proud of her for sustaining and upholding the enduring legacies of their parents. He noted that her life of service continues to inspire others and serves as a testament to the values of generosity, integrity, and community development.
