Eid-al-Fitr: Dr Yusuf-John Urges Muslims to Keep Praying for Nigera's Peace, Unity

Dr. Suberu Yusuf-John, Senior Special Adviser (SSA) to Gov. Ahmed Ododo on Road Safety Matters, on Friday urged the Muslim ummah to continue with fervent prayers for the peace,  unity and development of the Kogi and Nigeria as a whole.

Yusuf-John, who made the call in his Eid-al-Fitr message signed in Lokoja to all Muslims in Kogi and the country, said the prevailing socio-economic condition across the country calls for concern.

The governor’s aide congratulated the Muslims ummah on successfully completing the Ramadan fast and celebrating the Eid-al-Fitr, as a mark of spiritual touch with divinity and faith boosting.

He appealed to residents of Kogi, especially road users, to drive or walk carefully  on the roads to avoid unnecessary accidents and bleak sallah celebration.

"I hereby wish to congratulate our muslims brothers and sisters on the occasion of the Eid-al-Fitr and wish them a joyful and peaceful celebration.

"Looking at the challenges of this nation, it behoves on all us to keep the fervent prayers for its peace and unity toward attaining the desired growth and development.

"Let all political, traditional, and religious leaders take this as a challenge and demonstrate these onerous expectations for emulation by citizens.

"We should deliberately look at ourselves as citizens first and then foremostly ensure peaceful coexistence as well as be our brothers' keepers.

"I believe that by so doing,  we will defeat tribal and religious divisions and acrimonious for a united people of Nigeria, " he said.

Yusuf-John, who has declared his interest to contest the Adavi/Okehi Federal constituency seat in 2027, said Nigeria would soon emerge economically and politically strong

He commended the efforts of President Bola Tinubu,  Ododo,  traditional and religious leaders for their unwavering commitments toward the unity, peace, and progress of Kogi and Nigeria as a whole.
