Adakeke Leads Delegation to Bassa Council Boss, Seeks Swift Return of Displaced Persons

Hon. Alhassan Salisu Adakeke has led an advocacy delegation on a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Bassa Local Government Area, Mr. Theophilous Adama Daruwana, to commend his efforts in maintaining peace in the area and to call for the speedy return of displaced persons, particularly members of the Biroko community.

Speaking during the visit, Hon. Adakeke expressed appreciation for the council chairman’s role in sustaining peace and urged him to fast-track the process of reintegrating all displaced persons back into their ancestral homes.

In his response, Mr. Daruwana expressed delight at the visit and praised Hon. Adakeke for his exemplary leadership and consistent advocacy for peace.

He assured the delegation of his commitment to present their concerns to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in order to secure the necessary logistics and support for the peaceful resettlement of affected communities.

“The governor is determined to ensure the safe return of all those displaced by the Bassa Komo/Egbira crisis to their respective communities,” Daruwana said. “This is the right time for us to achieve lasting peace.”

The delegation included the Vice Chairperson of Bassa LGA, Hon. Aisha Idris; APC LGA Chairman, Mallam Abdulmumin Umar; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youths in Agriculture, Mallam Abdullahi Muhammad; LGA Secretary, Mallam Salihu Ali Abdullahi; LGA Supervisor, Mallam Alhassan Baba Muhammad; Mozum Ward Councilor, Haj. Mariam Tankwo Muhammad; Ozugbe Ward Councilor, Mallam Yahaya Idris; APC Ward Chairman for Ozugbe, Mallam Yahaya Labaran; Mozum Ward APC Chairman, Mallam Haruna Abubakar; former Adviser to the Governor on Emergency, Hon. Ibrahim Baba Muhammad; and Ozugbe Ward Adviser, Mallam Abdulrazaak Omara.
