Federal Government Pledges Support for Medical Equipment Production at Federal University of Allied Health Sciences Enugu

The Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr Adekunle Salako, has pledged the Federal government's support for the production of medical equipment for both national and international consumption. This promise was made after Dr Salako inspected the hospital equipment produced by the Biomedical Engineering Students of the Federal University of Allied Health Sciences Enugu (FUAHSE).

During his address to the Senate members of the University, Dr Salako expressed his admiration for the quality of the medical equipment manufactured by the students. He emphasized the importance of training medical manpower, stating that the administration of President Bola Tinubu prioritizes healthcare and aims to produce more health professionals for both local and global needs.

Dr Salako urged the University to focus on diligent training of health professionals and work towards achieving international standards in the production of medical equipment. He assured the University of the Federal government's support in transforming its medical center, particularly in the implementation of electronic medical records.

Furthermore, Dr Salako praised the efforts of the Vice Chancellor and the entire University staff, encouraging them to continue their pursuit of excellence in medical education and production of medical equipment. He stressed the importance of producing a new generation of healthcare professionals who can make the nation proud.

As a sign of appreciation for his support and commitment to healthcare development, the Minister was conferred with an Honorary Distinguished Fellowship by the Senate of the University. This gesture further solidifies the partnership between the Federal government and the University in advancing healthcare in Nigeria and beyond.
